Table above is 3x3 with Border thickness 5 pixels (orange colour selected) and Cell padding 2 pixels. Place cursor on top left corner, then right click and select Table properties.... Click on bottom right corner and then you can drag out the table size to the required size, or the size can be set in Table properties. Vertical and horizontal alignment of Items within the table cells can also be controlled through Table properties, and you can choose whther or not to "wrap" text within the cells.
